Year 11 Geography Visit to Hornsea
The annual year 11 geography field trip to Hornsea took place on Tuesday 18th September.
On a bright but very windy day, the geographers engaged in a series of different data collection tasks, including a land use survey, environmental quality survey and measuring the height of sediment of groynes along the beach to determine whether longshore drift was impacted by the groynes. Whilst on the beach, the wind whipped up the sand, giving us all a certain amount of exfoliation!! Despite this and aided by the usual seaside food of fish and chips and ice cream, we succeeded in collecting everything we needed and, importantly, had an enjoyable day out.
