White Ribbon Event

We were delighted to be asked by the local authority to host the launch of the White Ribbon campaign on Friday 4th May. 

The event was attended by Dame Liz Redfearn, Leader of the Council Rob Waltham OBE, MP Andrew Percy and a number of councillors including Crowle councillors John Briggs and Julie Reid. Colleagues from the local authority present introduced the campaign to our Year 7 students and they were really interested to hear about how the campaign promotes how unacceptable domestic violence is and how we all need to speak out against it. They were told that whilst most domestic violence is directed towards females by males it is also carried out by females against males and that this is equally unacceptable.


Representatives of our Year 7 student body then signed the pledge against domestic violence and received the white ribbon to be worn on their blazers. We will be welcoming back colleagues from the LA in the autumn term to deliver the same message to every year group and to give all students the opportunity to sign the pledge.
