Readathon 2012
The Readathon is a national initiative to encourage reading among young people and to raise money for Roald Dahl's children's charity.
Involvement also helps the participating schools. Obviously, the students enjoy the change to their regular curriculum and most enjoy the opportunity to read or to hear stories read to them. As well as this, the organisation rewards the school with money off books, dependent on the amount they raise for charity. This year The Axholme Academy raised £182.60 and received £30.52 of free books for this.
