Drop Down Sessions – 23 April

Students across multiple year groups took part in a range of informative and engaging drop-down sessions designed to support their personal development, wellbeing, and understanding of the wider community.

Overall, the day provided students with important knowledge and tools to support both their academic progress and personal development. Please see our new article here for more information about the delivered sessions.

Year 7 & 8
Students attended a session delivered by Fearless, part of Crimestoppers, focusing on personal safety, making informed choices, and how to report concerns anonymously. They also received information about the North Lincolnshire Youth Council, encouraging them to have a voice in local decision-making and get involved in shaping their community.

Year 9
Students took part in The Big Democracy Lesson, delivered by Young Citizens, during form time. This session helped students understand the importance of democracy, how laws are made, and the role they can play as active citizens.

Year 10
Students participated in a virtual workshop led by With Me In Mind, centred on managing exam stress. The session provided practical strategies to help students cope with pressure and maintain positive mental wellbeing as they begin preparing for future assessments.

Year 11

Students attended a presentation from John Leggott College focusing on managing exam stress and looking ahead to post-16 education. The session offered valuable advice on revision techniques, wellbeing during exams, and planning next steps after GCSEs.
