SuperSTARS & MegaSTARS Take Off!

Last week we awarded 7 MegaSTARS to the students from each year group who achieved the highest average effort grade for the autumn term.  The students who received these awards were: Lily Goodwin (Y7), Megan Arrowsmith (Y8), Lynda Braithwaite (Y9), Katie Chester (Y10), Charlotte Ellwood (Y11), Eleanor Fields (Y11) and Rebecca Hall (Y11).

In January we launched our new academy rewards system and students have been collecting STARS from their subject teachers ever since.  Last week we introduced SuperSTARS and MegaSTARS to recognise outstanding effort across The Academy and to recognise achievements outside of particular subject areas.  A SuperSTAR is worth 20 STARS whilst a MegaSTAR is worth 100 STARS.  A MegaSTAR alone can be used to claim a cinema ticket from the rewards shop.

We also recognised the effort of the other students that were in each year group’s top 10 average effort grades for the autumn term by awarding over 50 SuperSTARS.

After Easter we will be recognising effort for the spring term in the same way.  We are also currently preparing to award some SuperSTARS to students who went the extra mile last week with their fundraising for Comic Relief.
