European Day of Languages
Yet another enjoyable après-midi was had at the academy on Monday 26th September as the MFL department hosted their annual European Day of Languages afternoon for over 120 pupils from 5 of our primary feeder schools.
First of all we were treated to some outstanding performances where Eastoft won School of the Day for their excellently active performance. Then, supported by Mrs Spencer-Hall and Miss Patrick, students from 9A and B hosted and led pupils from Crowle Primary Academy, St Norberts, Eastoft, Gunness & Burringham and Althorpe & Keadby in a variety of exciting activities including t-shirt designing, loto (Bingo in French), a languages quiz and a short Spanish taster hosted by Miss Patrick. Unfortunately the planned boules tournament was rained off but the students were equally as engaged indoors!
Mrs Spencer-Hall said, “Once again this event was a success and remains one of my favourite events of the year in MFL. The pupils from our feeder primary schools demonstrated just how fantastic our feeder primary language provision is and also some excellent skill when performing and participating! I can’t wait to start planning for next year.”
