  • Shine School Media Awards 2019

    We were delighted to be shortlisted in the Best Newspaper Front Page category and to receive a 'Highly Commended' award in the Best Newspaper Award category at the ceremony. Our students were presented with a beautiful decorative scroll to mark their achievements.

    Well done to all the AX News Team for all their hard work and commitment to the newspaper.

    The newest edition of the AX News will be coming out before the end of term.

    Organisations  across the UK will be thanking their  volunteers and celebrating the power of volunteering during  National Volunteers Week taking place between 1st to 7th June. 

    At The Axholme Academy our most important and influential volunteers are members of the Governing Board that work tirelessly throughout the year in working with and supporting the senior leadership of the school to drive forward school improvement. They visit the school regularly meeting a range of staff and students; they challenge senior leaders and hold them accountable and celebrate our successes.

  • Uniform Update

    The governors have undertaken a Best Value exercise in the interests of due diligence, to ensure that Uniform Direct and Design Box continue to provide good value for money for the academy’s main uniform and P.E. Kit. The outcome of the exercise was that these companies do continue to offer Best Value at this time and therefore it was agreed at the Full Governing Board Meeting on the 13th May that both would continue as the academy’s preferred suppliers of uniform and P.E. Kit.

    Both Uniform Direct and Design Box will be at the academy (in the diner) on Thursday 20th June from 3pm – 8pm for the trying on and ordering of new uniform for September, which will be delivered to the school free of charge and handed to students via their Form Tutors, before we break up for the summer.

  • Disneyland Paris Sports Tour 2019

    On the 10th April 2019, 20 students along with 2 members of staff from The Axholme Academy travelled to Paris in order to take part in an International Netball and Football Festival. The trip has previously just been for Netball but we wanted to give our students the opportunity to represent the school in different sports this time. Students eagerly anticipated the trip, the netball, football and Disneyland aspects! Three jam-packed days were spent playing netball and football against other schools and clubs from across the country, taking part in coaching master classes and spending time in the Disneyland Paris parks.

  • The appointment of Mr Damien Keogh as the next Principal of The Axholme Academy

    On behalf of the Governing Board I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Damien Keogh as the next Principal of The Axholme Academy.  Mr Keogh will take up the Principal position from 01 September 2019 following the retirement of our well respected and long-standing Principal, Joe Sellars.

    Mr Keogh’s appointment follows an extensive two-day assessment centre in March.  He joins us with five years’ experience as a Head Teacher leading the St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy in Lincoln, and with twenty-two years’ experience in education.

    We look forward to welcoming Mr Keogh to our Academy.
