Romeo receives Young Carer of the Year Award
On Friday 14th October 2016, Romeo won an award in his age category for Yorkshire Children of Courage Award.
Romeo reports he was not aware that he had been nominated for the award as his Mum had kept it a secret from him. Romeo reports when his Mum finally told him, he did not think really much about it and it was his Nana and Aunt who told him that is was a big thing and that he did not understand the importance of been shortlisted for the award. Romeo states he still is not really sure how big a deal it was to be shortlisted.
Romeo states the qualities to be a young carer are: Bravery; Perseverance; Intelligence; Calmness and a caring attitude. Romeo says he just gets on with every day and does the best that he can.
